The Godfather died this morning at the age of 73. It's almost impossible to understate the influence that he had on music, especially hip hop, in the last 50 years. First Barry White, then Rick James, now this??? Fuuuck... It's a sad day when pretty much the funky-est guy on the planet is Common 'cargo pants' Sense. Actually, scratch that. I think Clay Aiken just passed him up after the release of Common's recent Gap commercial. R.I.P. James Brown. You will be missed.
Don't forget that George Clinton is still alive. He's most likely coked out of his mind, but he's still around. He may not make it through the next year. We should start a death pool.
