YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK; COLLATERAL MURDER

WikiLeaks has released a classified US military video depicting the indiscriminate slaying of over a dozen people in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad -- including two Reuters news staff. Reuters has been trying to obtain the video through the Freedom of Information Act, without success since the time of the attack. The video, shot from an Apache helicopter gun-site, clearly shows the unprovoked slaying of a wounded Reuters employee and his rescuers. Two young children involved in the rescue were also seriously wounded. For further information please visit the special project website collateralmurder.

When are other countries going to start attacking us? It's only a matter of time, right?

They already did (9/11).

its a war mistakes are made, i dont agree with the war, im not gunna get all butt hurt when a journalist in a war zone gets killed by accident, besides its not like were sawing theyre heads off or car bombing parades and religous festivals

It's not like we needed to be over there in the first place.

We'd be doing the same shit if some foreign country invaded us. -And it'd be considered patriotic.

maybe if you took some time out of your day to look at all the good things that are happening around us every day you would feel better about yourself.

think about it.

who drives kids into an area where there was just a shooting? looking at revok's blog he says, "12-15 innocent civilians murdered and 2 children wounded" idiot, you can't make any claim like that from viewing this clip. two kids wounded and two journalists killed, the rest...who knows?

That's bullshit. Think of how you'd feel if your neighborhood was turned into a war zone, and you got criticized for being there with your kids. The point is, all of those people were minding their business up until our soldiers started playing live-action 'Call of Duty' on them. That same thing could have happened anywhere in that city. There is no absolutely safe place to bring your kids when your entire country is a war zone. Stop making excuses for those bloodthirsty soldiers who clearly fucked up. If it's a matter of life and death, i'd hope that we'd be able to tell the difference between a camera and a rocket launcher.

there's a difference between your neighborhood being turned into a war zone and driving your kids to the intersection where people were shot minutes earlier.

and how can you tell "all of those people were minding their business"? clearly there is a guy there with a huge gun. what business do you think that is?

don't hang out with gun slingers in a war zone could be a point you're overlooking.

You're right, there was no way for me to tell that they were all just minding their own business... However the fact that they were journalists, standing in front of a building, not doing anything suspicious, let alone anything aggressive or antagonistic, leads me to the obvious conclusion that 12 people were murdered in cold blood. I don't know what military procedure dictates, but I'm pretty sure there's nothing stating that a dozen people's lives need to be ended on the hazy suspicion of maybe one of them having a gun/ camera. you can tell that the helicopter was really far away based on the fact that the people did not even seem to know it was there until it was too late. Plus, there was a rather long delay between when you hear the shots being fired and them slaying all of the innocent people. I'm sure a lot of non-guns could look like guns to a bunch of 20-year-olds jacked on adrenaline from 100+yds away.

Seriously though; why are you trying to excuse this? Under any other circumstances this is an open/ shut case, but because it's a war, -a misguided war that WE INSTIGATED no less, it's all good?? We get a pass for killing 12 people for nothing? How big of a deal would it be if 12 American citizens were gunned down by foriegn troops in one of our cities?

so you're saying that from this 20 min clip you know none of the people gunned down were armed or were insurgents? rather you claim they were just minding their business...pshh.

the journalists were probably going to just take snap some pics of the guy with the huge riffle shooting a goat for dinner...right.

war is fucking hell and we shouldn't be there in the first place but i can't make a moral call on this situation from the information provided.

how's everyone over at rvca feeling the penn loss?

I'm not going to condemn these guys without more information about what happened before this clip was shot. I should also point out that the guy who runs WikiLeaks is a real piece of work who used this clip to air his grievances about video games (?!).
