Racism = bad. Sexism = bad. Objectifying = neither good nor bad

'Objectifying women' is a weird conversation to have. to 'Objectify' literally means:
–verb (used with object),-fied, -fy·ing.
to present as an object, esp. of sight, touch, or other physical sense; make objective; externalize.

The purpose of this video obviously is to show a pretty girl with a nice body looking hot. Im not sure if you can say I was objectifying women simply by posting this video. What if I posted the same thing, but it was some ripped handsome dude with his shirt off -would I be objectifying men? I dont think so. I fully acknowledge that there is a long history of inequality between men and women, but I'm not sure any of that can be applied to this scenario. Women typically make 73-odd cents to every dollar a man makes doing the same job. But I'm positive, in the modeling profession, women clearly make more money then men for the same type of work.

If you want to give me your definition of 'Objectifying' I'd be willing to hear you out. but comparing Objectifying women (at least in terms of posting this video on a blog) to racism is not remotely an equal comparison. At best I'd say that objectification COULD be a subcategory or component of sexism, but it is not the same or equal to sexism.

I posted this because she is good looking, and wearing skimpy clothes. I don't think that in itself inherently means If I am indeed objectifying women (or specifically THIS woman)... If looking at a good looking girl equals objectification, Does looking (or not looking) at an ugly girl also mean objectification? Was your dad 'objectifying' your mom when he first saw her from across the cafeteria in high school or whatever? I dont get it ? is it possible to appreciate someone's appearance without objectifying them?

You tell me, I'm baffled...

That's a fairly vague definition. How has she been turned into an object? Last I checked she still appeared to be human...
