LORDS OF APATHY

TAKE THE LORDS OF APATHY LISA LOEB CHALLENGE!

It's Friday everybody! -And you know what that means... Actually you probably don't, but it's challenge time! This past week I was in Staples, trying to exchange an ink cartridge for my printer. I was already super frustrated because I forgot to write down the model number of the kind I needed. Anyways, after about 10 minutes of obsessively/compulsively combing the printer ink isle staring down the barrel of making a 3rd consecutive fruitless trip to Staples, the unthinkable happened... Lisa Loeb's "Stay" came on over the piped-in store PA system. All of a sudden I felt dizzy; and it got unbearably hot in there... The only thing I could think of is "I've got to get the fuck out of here -IMMEDIATELY".
I'm not sure what the point of telling you that was supposed to be, but here's your challenge: Turn the volume all the way up as loud as it will go and bump this L.L. joint to the bitter end, or for as long as you can hold out... Think of it as a test of your mettle. -Kinda like the Marine in those commercials where he battles that fire-breathing CGI dragon. Let me know how far you get, and a brief description of your struggle in the comments section below.
(For the record, I only made it about 8 seconds.)

Please call the paramedics because I stuck a screwdriver in my ear about 12 seconds in. While I am waiting for the ambulance to arrive, please consider the following:

This song is such a piece of shit, isn't it appropriate is that we can thank abysmal actor Ethan Hawke for getting it released? Also, can you be surprised at the woeful state of the music industry when I tell you that this song sparked a major label bidding war that ended up in the seven figures?

The last time I saw LL on TV, she was doing a show on Food Network with Dweezil Zappa (another lame). They were "on tour" promoting some albums they released to CD-R and talking about food. LL lost me for good when she made a big deal about being vegetarian and then ate about six pounds of bacon over the course of the series. The poetic justice was seeing her and Zappa's concerts in front of 8 people at Starbucks in tertiary markets.

I made it all the way through, I have this switch i can turn on and off in my head for most shit like this, I developed over the years of working with KDWB listeners who owned the majority vote. But i have to say Detroit Murder Dog's extensive knowledge on this subject is a kind of creepy. and there is no way this is worse than good charolete that shit is HORRIBLE AS FUCK.

sorry S-Dot, but i gotta do it... i believe you only made it 8 seconds into the song the first time you hit play, i was sitting right next to you, its true. but here is the thing, just hours ago you played that song about 3 times with the stereo cranked to 40, not only that but sang along and changed the Lyrics so that the song was directed at Horsey.

not that any of that is all bad, im just saying. and on top of that, i can listen to it all the way through and you know... it sounds kinda nice.
