hmmmm, as a non-Australian living in Australia, i'm usually pretty aware of Australias overt racism (ever had Coon cheese? me neither), but i think you've got it wrong here... Aus just played a series of cricket games against the West Indies (hence the West Indian folk around). It not unusual (anywhere in the world) for fans to sit amongst their fellow supporters at games, and getting stuck in the opposing teams area would suck i guess. That all the West Indians are black and the Australian is white is sad stereotyping, but i dont think its racist.
As for the fried chicken reference, that racist stereotype is totally unknown here. I think you'll find South East Asian people are better known for eating fried chicken around these parts. That said, looking at it from a US perspective, it does look sketchy, but then the ad was never intended to be aired in the US.
